Team building games for large groups

Most team building games stop working past 20 people. With Lumibout, one host runs the whole room from a single screen: tables play as teams, big games split into tables that move at the same pace, and everyone answers on their own phone.

A team battle quiz: the big screen on the left, one player’s phone on the right.

What to play

How to run it

  1. Start with an icebreaker. Write three Majority rules questions, such as “Best office snack?”, or start from the icebreaker quiz template.
  2. Set up the teams. Turn on Team battle when you host and name 2 to 8 teams, one per table or department. Players tap their team after they join, or Lumibout balances the teams for you.
  3. Play by table. Run the team quiz, then a round of Breach. The room splits into tables, and the big screen follows every table at once.

Questions

How many people can play?

Free plan: quizzes (including Majority rules) up to 100 players, party games (Team battle, Lucky draw, Breach, Undercover) up to 15. Plus: 300 in every game. Pro: 2,000. Event Pass: 500 or 2,000 for one event, 7 days, no subscription. Paid plans and Event Passes are coming soon. Team battle or Breach with more than 15 people needs Plus, Pro or an Event Pass.

Do teams need to be the same size?

No. Teams are ranked by their average score, so uneven tables and departments still compete fairly. Late joiners are placed on a team automatically.

Does it work for remote or hybrid teams?

Yes. Share the big screen on your video call (Zoom, Teams, Meet or any other) and everyone joins on their phone with the PIN. The room and the call play in one game. In Team battle, remote colleagues can be a team of their own.

Do players need an app or an account?

No. Players open lumibout.com, type the PIN and a name, and they’re in. Only the host signs in, with an email link.
